Follow the PPT route from Lhasa to Nyingchi for canyon scenery, Nanga Bawa viewpoints, forest landscapes, and Basum Tso in one compact 3-day Tibet tour.
Starting in Lhasa, this short Nyingchi journey follows the PPT route through Kadin Valley, the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, and Suosong Village before continuing to Sejila Pass, Lulang landscapes, and Basum Tso. The route balances iconic photography stops, light cultural immersion, and comfortable overland travel.
Depart Lhasa in the morning, stop around Bahe for lunch, continue through scenic views of the Nyang River, visit Kadin Valley, and then enter the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon area. Arrive in Suosong Village for dinner and an overnight stay facing the Namcha Barwa range.
Enjoy breakfast with a chance to watch sunrise over Namcha Barwa, then drive via Sejila Pass for one of the best mountain viewpoints on the G318 corridor. Continue past Lulang scenery before reaching Nyingchi city for dinner and hotel check-in.
After breakfast, drive to Basum Tso to admire the sacred lake, island scenery, and Tsozong Monastery setting. After lunch, return overland to Lhasa and end the trip in the evening.
Yes. This is one of the easiest PPT routes because it focuses on scenic driving and light sightseeing instead of long high-altitude trekking.
Spring is especially popular for peach blossom scenery around the grand canyon and Suosong Village, while summer and autumn also offer strong visibility and lush landscapes.
Yes. Even though the route is relatively comfortable, Sejila Pass reaches high altitude, so light acclimatization in Lhasa is still recommended.
